Originally a private Georgian House, The Chaucer stands opposite Canterbury’s ancient city walls, close to all of the city’s sights.
A charming hotel with an award-winning restaurant and a rich vein of history, The Chaucer is an ideal location for a meeting, conference, or simply as a base from which to tour the beautiful Garden of England. Canterbury is deeply woven into the fabric of English history and even before medieval times had always attracted religious pilgrims.
For meals, try the on site 63 Ivy Lane, offering traditional English cuisine with a French influence. Alternatively, the patio terrace and Pilgrims bar is open from 10:00 daily and serves a brasserie style menu.

By Car:
Canterbury is situated 16 km (10 miles) from the end of the M2. The Chaucer is in Ivy Lane, on the left of Lower Chantry Lane, on the eastern side of the city wall.
